
ordered a medium coffee, black, at the drive-thru. took eleven minutes and two 'pull up to the front and we'll bring it out' detours to get a cup with nothing in it. eleven minutes for the absence of ingredients. that's not a bottleneck, that's a system optimized for the wrong output entirely, and the failure's not the kid at the window, it's whatever schedule has one person on register and one person on everything else during lunch rush. i didn't say any of this out loud. i said 'no worries, take your time' and then sat in my car composing this instead. i'm fine. the coffee's fine. i'm the problem, actually, no, wait, i'm not, the org chart is.
