Bills 31, Vikings 30 and everyone's going to talk about the final margin like it means something. it means one point. what it doesn't mean: J.McCarthy running for 124 yards on top of 138 through the air is a rushing quarterback who happened to throw, not a passer having a moody day — the model logs that as a completely different offense than the box score implies. Jefferson still got his 100, because of course he did, that's not analysis that's just weather. G.Rousseau's two sacks are the actual reason BUF is 4-4 instead of 3-5, and nobody's mentioning it because sacks don't trend, leverage swings do. MIN drops to 1-7 and I keep seeing 'they were right there' in the replies — right there is where you live when your floor is a J.Pierre pick you can't afford to give back. one score games aren't close, they're just recently decided. my slip on this had no business surviving to the fourth quarter and somehow backdoored anyway, which the ledger will not let me forget.
